In 2007, a collective and horizontal process of autonomy was begun in San Juan Copala, Oaxaca, completely outside political parties and hierarchical organizations. For nine months, this attempt has been a target for destruction by groups and individuals with political, financial or personal interests.
We denounce the intolerable situation in which the men, women and children of San Juan Copala are now living. They are being threatened or assassinated by the paramilitary groups which now control San Juan Copala and who triumphed with complete impunity if they did not leave their territory by September 14th.
In recent months and days we have been aware of the dozens of killings committed by paramilitaries protected and financed by the three levels of the bad government, federal, state and municipal, and by vertically structured organizations.
We want no more dead! We cannot remain silent about this grave situation, we continue to support the collective struggle for autonomy and for horizontal organising processes, against the political parties and hierarchical organisations.
Paramilitary groups out of San Juan Copala!
Enough of impunity!
Stop the slaughter and harassment of the men, women and children of San Juan Copala!
Respect for the autonomy and self-determination of indigenous communities!
We demand a guarantee that the families can return to San Juan Copala!
We will not be complicit in the blindness that the State seeks to impose on its instruments, who are the capitalist media, the intelligence services, their police, their army, and their paramilitaries.
Behind any assault or murder which is committed against the families of San Juan Copala, is the strategy of the bad governments, vertical organizations and individuals in pursuit of their own
interests, electoral, economic, and / or personal, to promote hatred and revenge among peoples.
From here we continue monitoring the situation and expressing our absolute condemnation of the crimes perpetrated by the State, through their parties and their paramilitary groups in the state of Oaxaca and throughout the country.
